Congratulations to the 2026 INETTT Grant Winners

Explore the multi-country projects on industrial decarbonisation and institutional development by INETTT members.

We are happy to announce the winners of the 2026 INETTT Grants Programme! The projects are being implemented from May to October 2026 across East Asia, South Asia, Europe, and Latin America, and address critical challenges in advancing industrial decarbonisation and institutional development.

We want to thank all INETTT members who submitted project proposals showcasing the depth and diversity of expertise within our membership.

Six Ambitious Projects on Industrial Decarbonisation for Just and Fair Transitions Selected for Large Grants in 2026.

The programme is organised jointly by the INETTT Secretariat and Agora Industry.

 • Strategic Positioning of Brazil in the EV Battery Value Chain under Low-Carbon Constraints by E+ Energy Transition Institute

This project identifies priority segments in Brazil’s EV battery value chain where the country can add value under low-carbon constraints. The findings will provide an evidence base for targeted industrial and climate policy strategies.

 • Rethinking South Korea’s Industrial Structure: From Carbon Lock-In to Decarbonisation and Competitiveness by Green Energy Strategy Institute

This project builds the structural case for industrial transformation in South Korea. It diagnoses how the country’s current industrial composition drives carbon lock-in and identifies how shifts in sectoral structure can advance decarbonisation while maintaining competitiveness in a tightening global climate and trade environment.

 • National Roadmap for Green Industrialisation in Pakistan by Sustainable Development Policy Institute

This project develops a nationally grounded framework for green industrialisation, reorienting Pakistan’s economy from import dependence to domestic clean-technology manufacturing. Using the textile export sector as a pathfinder, it will deliver a bankable roadmap to domesticate the green value chain, insulate trade from CBAM tariffs, and mitigate macroeconomic risks from global energy shocks

 • Industrial Policy: Enabling the Twin Goals of Decarbonisation and Sustainable Development by SHURA Energy Transition Center

Building on SHURA’s previous work, this project expands the “new inclusive industrial paradigm” for Türkiye. It compares global experiences and paradigms in terms of decarbonisation potential, social welfare, and competitiveness. Using Türkiye as a case study, the project will contribute to international discussions on industrial policy as a tool for decarbonisation and sustainable development.

 • Forging a Low-Carbon Future: Decarbonising Colombia’s Steel Industry by Transforma

This project identifies feasible pathways for decarbonising Colombia’s steel industry while maintaining competitiveness. It assesses the policy, financial, and market conditions required to enable a transition to low-carbon steel production.

 • Advancing Industrial Decarbonisation toward Net-Zero 2050 in Thailand through a Just Transition Framework by Energy Research Institute

This project develops scenario-based pathways for achieving net-zero emissions in Thailand’s heavy industries (cement, steel, and petrochemicals). Incorporating just transition principles and recognition justice through stakeholder engagement and policy analysis, the project will provide evidence-based recommendations to support industrial decarbonisation in Thailand and offer a replicable framework for other emerging economies.

3 Impactful Projects Selected for Small Grants in 2026

Small grant projects focus on strengthening INETTT member think tanks to advance their skills and expertise, expand their reach and deepen their impact in shaping just and sustainable energy transitions.

This year, topics range from platform development to policy research on transition minerals and strategic communications training. After a competitive selection process, INETTT awarded 3 small grants in May 2026:

• Nigeria Climate & Energy Transition Virtual Platform: Strengthening Climate and Energy Transition Governance, and Coordination by Africa Policy Research Institute

This project will develop a digital repository and dashboard—the Nigeria Climate & Energy Transition Virtual Platform—to strengthen climate and energy transition governance, coordination, and decision-making. The platform will map key initiatives, track climate finance flows, identify stakeholders, and monitor Nigeria’s climate commitments and implementation progress.

• Building Policy and Civil Society Capacity on Green Industrial Materials and Transition Minerals in Morocco by Imal Initiative for Climate and Development

This project strengthens policy research and civil society capacity in industrial decarbonisation and critical mineral value chains, supporting Morocco’s energy transition.

• Strengthening Strategic Communication for Energy Transition Policy by POLEN Transiciones Justas

This project enhances POLEN’s capacity to design and implement energy transition initiatives through structured strategic communications training and collaborative learning.

The INETTT Grants Programme strengthens the institutional capacities of member think tanks, fosters knowledge production and amplifies collective policy impact. By doing so, it directly contributes to INETTT’s mission of advancing ambitious, evidence-based energy transition policies worldwide.
